Glenelg Dark History & Crime Tour
Glenelg Dark History Crime Tour:
Glenelg – The Dark Side
Glenelg is popular for its beaches, boats, blue sea and big skies, but when the sun and fun seekers leave the beach front, Glenelg is cloaked in the darkness of its past. Come on our Glenelg Dark History Crime Tour (Glenelg: The Dark Side) and learn what lurks beneath the surface!
Every old town or city has its sombre past and Glenelg is no different, in fact, being the first place to be colonised on the mainland of South Australia, it deserves it. There has always been an interest in dark history, the murders, deaths and suicides of times past, events that made the place what it is today.
Join Adelaide Haunted Horizons as we walk you through ‘The Dark Side’ of this beach resort as we reveal some intriguing and, at times, grizzly, tales of times gone by. Find out what event tipped a loving family man over the edge to kill and how is one of the Adelaide Gaol’s executed prisoners connected to this popular seaside town?
Glenelg is a place of intrigue too, with many unsolved mysteries, such as the strong swimmer who was found on the beach. She hadn’t drowned and there were no injuries to her body, so how did she die? Also, the deceased, fully dressed, man found leaning up against the sea wall with a possible Cold War connection. Why are these cases so fascinating, but still unsolved?
Occasionally, but only very occasionally, we also have some weird and wacky tales to tell to lighten to mood. Find out what was the series of unfortunate events that almost killed an entertainer, enabling him to be in the unique position of reading his own obituary. Or the plane that had to do an emergency landing in a local street …. and why.
All of these stories and more will be told as we walk the well-trodden streets of Glenelg.

“Thanks for a great night at Glenelg Kag. You did an awesome job as always ☺ Joe and I really enjoyed it. Some very interesting stories.” ~ Michelle Edmundson, S.A.
“A great tour and very informative. I lost count of the times I thought to myself “Wow, I never knew that!”
The extensive research has certainly been done, right down to the smallest detail. Kag, our guide for the night, was very welcoming and rather comical too. It made for a fun evening, whilst learning more about Adelaide and its lesser known History.
Thoroughly recommended.” ~ Karen Griffiths, S.A.
